FAMILY - Learn How To Leave A Legacy Of Hope

Beauties! Today is all about living courageously and being bold about our passion and purpose. I recently read an amazing quote that I wanted to share with you

“The purpose in life is not to be happy, It is to be useful, to be honorable, to have it make some difference that you have lived and lived well” - Ralph Waldo Emerson

After reading this quote, it brings me so much joy to stand with Susan G. Komen as a breast cancer advocate as they passionately strive towards creating a world without breast cancer. As you know, my grandma battled breast cancer and after a courageous fight, she passed away. Her legacy inspires, and lives on, igniting a fire within me to stand with Susan G. Komen. I strive to not be passive about my approach, but instead take action through my words and actions to my daughters, my friends, and family.

Why Your Should Be An Advocate

I am so thankful for the amazing Breast Cancer Advocates in my life and one who specifically that always empowers me to live with passion and purpose is my Aunt. Last year, she volunteered to go through testing in order to give one of her kidney’s to our other aunt and during the process, the doctors discovered a lump on her breast and soon found out that she had a very aggressive form of breast cancer. This past year, she battled breast cancer and now has no evidence of cancer!

She even went on Houston Life TV with me last year during Breast Cancer Awareness month and shared her story, and then took off her wig. She is strong, bold, and doing her part to create a world without breast cancer. She also mentors and counsels others going through similar situations, while using her healing and story to inspire and empower. Also, later this year, she is going with her husband on a medical mission trip to Nigeria to give back and serve the people who have medical needs. I am inspired by her life and the legacy she is starting for our family.

I hope that you are empower to take action to and to be proactive about your health. I hope you continue to live each day with passion and purpose!

Thank you to Susan G. Komen for kindly sponsoring this post. All opinions are 100% honest & completely my own.
