I am so excited to share with you all the amazing adventures that we had while staying in Colorado. I am going to write a few post about our stay, but this one is dedicated to the gorgeous home we stayed in, our love of nature and 10 family friendly things you can do within 10 miles of this gorgeous retreat!
First off, the views off the back porch were breath taking. We could not believe the beauty that surrounded us. One morning, at sunrise it started to snow and I couldn’t help but cry. I was so overwhelmed by the beauty and so thankful for the opportunity to spend a few days in this gorgeous retreat with people I love! It was so refreshing and empowering!
If you are looking to visit Colorado then you should definitely check out this gorgeous home! The home was beautiful and quaint, the views where once in a lifetime and the owner was a dream to work with! 1. Golden Gate Canyon State Park - about a mile up the road. And if the weather is nice there are some great hikes. Raccoon is one of many favorites for all ages. This could be fun for a stop.... Saturday, December 1
Start a new family holiday tradition by cutting a native Christmas tree! Warm up at the Visitor Center with hot drinks, cookies, candy canes, and a 10% discount on unique presents from our gift shop! In the spirit of giving, canned goods will be collected for the local food bank to help those in need.
2. Central City and Black Hawk - about 10 miles south
Historic mining, buildings and casinos. The opera house and a few other places are only active in the summer.
NEDERLAND - 10 miles north on Hwy 119
Great for all ages!
Wild Bear is a great place to go with kids or find some educational or cool things to brings home for your kids.
5. Augustinas Winery is close by the Carousel of Happiness.
6. “The Very Nice Brewery” which does flights paired with chocolate and fun local brews and growlers.
7. Nederland Mining Museum is interesting history of the area but closed for the season until June.
8. There are several good restaurants and fun shops in Nederland.
- Natures Own has lots of interesting things.
- The Rustic Moose on Main Street in Nederland is a great little gift shop. They carry some of the Your True Nature items.

9. Eldora Ski Resort is about 10 miles from Nederland
10. Hidee Gold Mine
Fun! Adventure! Educational! Tour an operating gold mine in the heart of the "richest square mile on earth," and chip off a chunk of high grade gold ore to take home as part of your tour. The Hidee Gold Mine is just 1.5 miles from downtown Central City, on the Central City Parkway. Underground tours of the mine take about an hour, with gold panning also included. There is also ample space for you to enjoy a picnic lunch in the beautiful Colorado sunshine.
Also, you will be in the Rocky Mountains, so there are many other things to do - walking, mountain biking, camping, horseback riding, disc golf (Frisbee), fishing, whitewater rafting, canoeing, rock climbing, or exploring more of the Colorado Gold Trail. Be sure to check out Golden Gate Canyon State Park which is only a mile or so from our place and get a day pass for only $7.00 for your whole group.
Sitting on the deck and just enjoying the peace and beauty of your surroundings is a perfect way to relax.
Rocky Mountain National Park is amazing too....
Overall, our trip to Colorado has been the best Babymoon ever! From staying the in the gorgeous, dreamy cabin in Black Hawk with some of our best friends to driving this amazing Toyota Sequoia TRD Sport around town.... we could not of asked for a better vacation!!!! We loved how spacious it is and how 4 huge suitcases fit in the back + the 4 wheel drive was perfect for all the snow and Mountains! #DriveToyota #LetsGoPlaces #Sequoia
